Shar-Ka-Tana

As a child there was a feeling of being different, seeing and understanding life differently to everyone else. There is no way of knowing if I had been diagnosed as Autistic would it have helped, I mention this as I am a late in life diagnosed Autistic.

What happened in life, with the numerous events taking place I leaned in the direction of being psychic. However, I was far too young to understand what was happening. When I was much older relatives told me I went into a deep trance/sleep state, a voice anywhere from 25 - 45 years older than myself would come through and pass on messages.

The first time a spirit was seen, I was playing in the garden and a blue and silver Being appeared, this Being taught me about life. The next time spirit was seen when I was 18 years old at a church in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, here my conscious understanding started to unfold. At this Free Church the priest taught “Laying on of Hands”, a healing system where you would open to spirit/divine and as the Priest training me put it, "allowing for grace to pass through and provide healing".

Later attending the Spiritualist Church where the journey into Meditation and Clairvoyance started. The Bible was studied for a year in a Christian Church. Here more psychic events took place. In a shopping trip I happened to come across a meditation book written by a Buddhist teacher, this drew me into Buddhism. I moved to a Buddhist Centre in London.

Buddhism provided concepts that changed my view on life. It also aided relaxation within. Once again, a few powerful psychic events took place along with deepening further within, here I believe I also started to experience my first opening towards self-awareness and awakening.

During my time in London the opportunity to attended The College of Psychic Studies came along.  At the college I studied Trance Mediumship. Here I was provided with answers as to what I had been doing as a child. While not the first time in meeting spirit, it did open the doorway to the spirit world so much wider.

Each experience brought a deepening and expanding to everything, providing ways to look at it from different angles. This really helped in understanding as well as the shift inward towards connecting with Self-Awareness.

Over time I have studied:

Reiki, Master/Teacher

Emotional Freedom Technique

Counselling

Indian Head Massage

Clairvoyance

Trance Mediumship

Meditation

Tarot

Chakras

Shamanism

I hold an endless curiosity that wishes to know and focus on all aspects of life not just areas where I have studied.

An introduction to Advaita Vedanta (Non-Duality) in 2008, broke the block that had left me feeling I had been held back. Bring into the mix time spent studying various aspects of religion, spirituality, and not forgetting Kundalini rising at 26. I was so ready for Advaita Vedanta to crack the doors wide open taking hold of the awakening that was already present.

Senses have been pulled and pushed in all directions, at times feeling as if the world was crashing down. Yet here I am, ready to assist others.

Within this unifying space; it is seen that all of these psychic fields can be of great assistance to others, used in the right way. If not, these abilities are only glamour which can attract and confuse people. I see potential and possibilities of beauty and growth. Consciousness guides and leads the way forward, in a direction I never thought would appear.

Adding to life I received a late in life diagnosis of being Autistic, Which brought to me why there has been such a difference to the way I viewed life compared to other people. Also showing an Autistic is capable of growing and moving towards Self-Awareness and Awakening.

There have been many opportunities to work with some beautiful people, to learn so many alternative practices. Within Advaita Vedanta, the words and videos of teachers have guided gracefully to what is. Notable are: Jeff Foster, Rick Linchitz. Annette Nibley, Peter Marchand, and to the person where I feel so much has been taught, not just through word, but presence, I am humbly grateful for Susanne Marie – The non-teacher that cracked the non-shell.

Let us not forget those teachers seen and unseen, this form, family, friends, life and the wonderful world of nature. Self reflection through others can be the one teacher that will honestly strip you down, leaving you bare to the world.

A warm hearted grateful thank you to all of you for your open reflections, you have led me on a journey of reflection that is love.

Love and Blessings
